Child Custody in Colorado?

Question
My son's mother and I split up when he was only 4 months old. Were never married. At the time because of the experts opinions I was only granted 5 hours of visitation 2 days a week gradually working up to 2 overnights a week. Very shortly after our mediation she went back to work and needed me to have my son 3 days a week. My son is now 5 years old and I have been very involved with his school, and in general a big part of his life. I have a work schedule where I work 4 days one week and 3 days the next, and I have my son on all my days off with 3 overnights a week. I have been paying child support based on our Original paperwork ever since. There have been several times where she would get mad at me and say that she will limit my time with him to only 2 days a week. I have felt that I have been walking on eggshells to keep the peace. The last incident of her threatening to limit my parenting time spurred me to file a motion with the court to modify parenting time and child support. My main concern is the parenting time I have with my son, and I feel we should have 50/50 custody. Does anyone have insight into what Colorado laws say about joint custody? Oh, I forgot to add that my son is now 5 years old. I feel that we are both very good parents and that we are equally important to our son's life. Do you see a mediator or judge not giving me 50% custody?
